Let’s take your teriyaki chicken to the next level! Teriyaki Chicken Don is another popular dish in Japan and consists of finely sliced strips of delicious teriyaki chicken over a bowl or rice (“Don” is short for “Donburi“, which means a big bowl).
Cooking time: 2 mins + Teriyaki Chicken prep time
INGREDIENTS (1 Serving)

- Cocked rice: 1 big bowl
- Teriyaki sauce: Leftover scooped from the pan
- Seaweed: ½ sheet or any amount

- Teriyaki chicken: 2 strips or 1 big strip
NOW, LET’S START!

1. Pour sauce over rice. Serve as much rice1 as you like in a big bowl. Pour some teriyaki sauce2 on top.

2. Sprinkle seaweed over the rice. Crumble the seaweed3 and sprinkle over the rice.

3. Place the chicken over the seaweed. Now, place the strips of teriyaki chicken4 on top of the seaweed bed. It is easier if you use a knife to transfer the chicken.

4. Congratulations, you have just created another traditional Japanese dish, Teriyaki Chicken Don, in just as little as 3 minutes! Add some veggies to garnish, if you wish.
Teriyaki Chicken Don is delicious even when it’s cold and makes a perfect bento (packed meal). Make some extra and take it to school or work for lunch the next day!
